Working Together.

Process, Tips, and Must-Know Info

We understand.

Construction interrupts our day-to-day lives too.  But, hopefully this page will give you some useful information on what to expect these next few days.

Our goal is to ensure the safety of our workers & the public!

If you have any questions during this time, please contact us!  whitney@reconconstruction.com

Something to consider ...

Pavement Rehabilitation Processes are not “apply-and-forget”.  They require time to compact & cure due to the specialized corrective nature of what they achieve.  Because of this, special attention should be paid to how we work.  We can work together to ensure the very best new road surface, with the least amount of inconvenience on your end!

Your New Road Is Coming Soon!

What to Expect These Next Few Days ...

Notification

Well, you got here somehow, right?!  This notification should let you know when we will be in town working.  It will also let you know of any parking restrictions in place during our visit (how else can we fix the road if you are parked on it?).

>>Don't forget, in the event of rain, the restrictions get pushed back.

Prep Work

You may see a few members of our team working to prep the jobsite in some of those “tricky” areas — underground utilities, curbline, and yup! driveway entrances

>>During this time, we expect minimal delays to your residence.

Cold In-Place Recycle

This specialized process is utilized as a solution to defects in the roadway wearing & base course.  To learn more about this process, click here.

Generally, the entire width of the road is recycled, but depending upon several factors, it may not all be completed in one day.  So, if you notice one side of the road is recycled, but not the other, chances are that we’ll be back the following day to complete the recycle.  Never too much of a good thing, right?!

Tip:  You can drive on the freshly recycled mat after it has been compacted.

Cold In-Place Recycle is not your finished road.  It is simply correcting the defects that go beyond the first layer of pavement (wearing course) into the base course.  The Recycled Mat will need to cure for a period of time (generally 3-10 days) until it cures to it’s optimal moisture content.

At that time, you can then expect to see another friendly road contractor come in & place your wearing course.

Fun Fact:  Once the CIR Train “Choo-Choo” has passed, the mat is still very soft.  This is due to the lack of compaction, but you will soon hear (and possibly feel!) the vibratory roller.  Once the vibratory roller has passed, the road is safe to drive on.  When in doubt, please ask one of us & we will be happy to help you.

Full Depth Reclamation

This specialized process is utilized as a solution to defects in the roadway base course & subgrade.  To learn more about this process, click here.

Tip:  FDR utilizes cement to help stabilize & strengthen the subgrade.  To avoid getting cement on your vehicle, and to maintain your schedule, we suggest parking your car on a side street the day your road is scheduled to be reclaimed.

Full Depth Reclamation is not your finished road.  It is simply correcting the defects that go beyond the first few layers of pavement into the subgrade & base of the road.  The Full Depth Reclamation Mat will need a few days to build it’s target strength.

At that time, you can then expect to see another friendly road contractor come in & place your wearing course.

Fun Fact:  Full Depth Reclamation utilizes an process of grinding the road, mixing with cement, grading & compaction. This process can take around 4 hours to complete.

While we do provide residents to access their driveways, we encourage folks that need a lot of access during their scheduled road work to find parking on a side street.

When Can I Park on My Street Again?

For both Full Depth Reclamation & Cold In-Place Recycling, residents can park on their street that evening, overnight.

If you notice states several days of closure, you will need to move your car the following morning.
